From 2017 to 2018, he played the titular role of Purushottam (Puru)/Porus, King of the Pauravas and destined rival of Alexander, in the Sony TV historical drama series, Porus. Laksh Lalwani co-starred in the show alongside the likes of Rohit Purohit, Rati Pandey, Aditya Redij, and others. The show became the most expensive show on Indian television having a budget of about INR 500 crores (roughly USD 70 million).
For his performance in Porus, he won the 2018 Lions Gold Award for “Best Actor (Popular)” and was also nominated for the 2019 Asian Television Award for “Best Actor In A Leading Role”.
Opposite Janhvi Kapoor, Laksh Lalwani has been cast as Raj in the Hindi-language romantic comedy film, Dostana 2, quasi-sequel to the 2008 film Dostana.
